Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning FLX was joined by various onlookers, friends and family at the Kings of Paint store down in Bristol’s Bear Pitt. People browsed over the seven or so amazing pieces that he sat creating whilst they sipped on tea and nibbled on the cakes that lots of lovely Temwa supporters whipped up for us, much appreciated guys.Others got involved themselves, doodling on the large rolls of drawing papers that were spread out on the stores tarmac floor. Most importantly though, everyone who came in was hugely receptive to FLX’s efforts and donated as much as they could. As the day progressed and night set it, FLX was kept company by his more dedicated friends and fans with a Saturday night sit in. Snug in his sleeping bag the artist kept at it, using various pens and paints to create some really unique pieces. One included the name Temwa with each letter design having its own indigenous Malawian theme to it. Others were a little more experimental with FLX trying out some new and original styles and techniques. FLX has actually confirmed that two if not three of these pieces he designed over the 24 hours will be available to buy at our up-coming auction at the Attic Bar on May 6th. As morning rolled round, FLX finished up with another quality African themed piece showing tribesmen next to the beautiful Lake Malawi. Finally finishing at 11.am, the artist received a huge round of cheers and applause then gathered his things and made his way home to bed. Words can’t describe how grateful everyone at Temwa is for FLX’s huge effort over the weekend and we wish him the best of luck for his upcoming mural project with our Malawi team.
