Fantastic Fundraising
Thursday, 11 February 2010 16:01

Fundraising_thumbTemwa have held some superb fundraising events so far this year including an all-star comedy event at The Lanes and a sell out folk, storytelling and magic night at The Folk House. Read the whole story below and see some stunning professional photos of the events.

‘A Night of Comedy in Aid of Malawi' was held on Sunday 17th January at The Lanes, Bristol. The evening saw over 100 guffawing punters enjoy a fantastic all-star line up of comics including Mark Olver, Toby Longworth, Ben Norris and Dan Antopolski. All the comics performed for free and The Lanes were also extremely generous in letting us have the venue for free as well as donating raffle prizes and being extremely accommodating. A massive thanks goes out to everyone that was invlolved.

The second hugely successful event was called ‘Folk, Tales and Magic' and took place the following Friday at The Bristol Folk House. As the name suggests, the event saw some of Bristol's finest folk musicians, storytellers and magicians gather for an evening of fine entertainment. The event completely sold out in advance which is only the second time that has happened in our nine years of running fundraising events. Needless to say, everyone had a great evening of multisensory nourishment that saw all the acts shine and sparkle the night away with all their own special brands of magic. Temwa sends a huge thanks to all the acts that donated their time and energy completely for free and in particular to Graham who put a lot of hard work into organising such a fantastic event.
