Temwenani has received 1.5 million Malawi Kwacha (£7,600) in funding from the National AIDS Commission in Malawi.

Temwenani has received 1.5 million Malawi Kwacha (£7,600) in funding from the National AIDS Commission in Malawi. This will be used to provide a structured HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, including training courses in the community centre and the purchase of a television and video to show educational programmes We will also have representatives from NAPHAM (National Association of People with HIV and AIDS in Malawi) come to Usisya to give talks and literature to the community.

The Usisya committee applied for the funding with Rebecca, Temwenani's Project Manager in Malawi. The fact that they have been able to source funding themselves really helps give the people of Usisya ownership and take on board Temwenani as their own project.
