'Protecting The Next Generation' Film Progress
Tuesday, 03 November 2009 14:29

PFP-moncho-thumbThe PFP Film Crew arrived in Malawi in June, where they began working in Zomba with our partner organisation, YONECO. The crew comprises of Colin Stevens (Director & Editor), Elspeth Waldie (Producer, Scriptwriter & Camera 2), Moncho Aldamiz (Director of Photography & Assistant Producer), Fraser McFadyen (Sound Designer & Recordist) and Peter Lansdown (Production Assistant & Clapper).

They worked tirelessly to produce what will no doubt be a fantastic and invaluable film. Aimed at 5 to 12 year olds, the film hopes to teach these children ways in which they can protect themselves from contracting HIV in the future. Currently, in Malawi, there is just a 1% prevalence rate of HIV in children in this age group - so, if these children can be taught how to protect themselves before they reach puberty, just imagine how dramatic the overall reduction in the prevalence of the disease could be?

The final members of PFP returned to the UK late in September, and they are now finishing the post-production of the film in the UK. Thanks guys!
