Donations

Temwa relies very much upon donations from the public to keep its Malawi operations running. Thanks to our supporters Temwa continues to deliver sustainable community-based development to one of the poorest areas of Malawi. Below is a selection of different ways that you can donate to Temwa.

Standing Order

All our sources of funding are very important but the best support we can receive is regular donations as they allow us to plan our future work, confident in the knowledge of your regular support. Our commitment to long-term projects depends on this support and even as little as £5 a month (that is only 17p per day) can make a huge difference.

The best way to make a regular donation to Temwa is through a regular standing order. If you are interested in setting one up please download our standing order form (Word document format), fill it out and send it back to us at the address at the bottom of the form.

Fundraising
We've teamed up with JustGiving, the UK's leading online fundraising website, so you can donate and raise funds for us online. It's really easy for you to raise money for us by creating an online fundraising page on JustGiving. It takes just a few minutes and you can collect donations for any sponsored event or appeal.

Fundraising pages are just like paper sponsorship forms, except they're online, so you don't have to spend time collecting cash and cheques. Just personalise your page with a photo and message and email the web address to all your contacts. Then your friends, family, colleagues and anyone else can make a donation through your page from anywhere in the world.

You can create a fundraising page for absolutely anything. You could get sponsored to run, swim, cycle, get fit, grow a moustache or have your head shaved. You can even create a page in memory of someone or instead of wedding gifts. The only limit is your imagination.

Leave a legacy

By leaving a gift in your Will to Temwa you can leave a lasting legacy of hope to some of the poorest people in the world. Legacies are special gifts. However big or small your gift is you can be sure that it will mean a huge amount to the communities that we work with.

How to leave a legacy to Temwa

If you would like to include Temwa in your Will we advise that you visit your solicitor. Below is suggested wording that your solicitor can use.

For a share of your estate: I give all/a share of (please state fraction/percentage) of the residue of my estate absolutely to Temwa of 18 Hamilton Road, Southville, Bristol, BS3 1PB, Registered Charity Number 1101090, to be applied by Temwa for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Temwa for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific sum: I give to Temwa of 18 Hamilton Road, Southville, Bristol, BS3 1PB, Registered Charity Number 1101090, absolutely, the sum (amount in figures, amount in words) to be applied by Temwa for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Temwa for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

For a specific item: I give to Temwa of 18 Hamilton Road, Southville, Bristol, BS3 1PB, Registered Charity Number 1101090, absolutely, (write in here whatever you wish to give) to be applied by Temwa for its charitable purposes, and I further direct that the receipt of the Hon. Treasurer or any other proper officer of Temwa for the time being shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.

Thank you for considering a gift in your Will to Temwa. We would be very grateful if you could let us know of your kindness so we have the opportunity to thank you and consult with you about how you would like to be kept informed of our work.
