Temwa's partner organisation utu successfully dispatches a storage unit containing hundreds of boxes full of educational textbooks to be used in schools in Malawi. Read More
The new ‘Trees for Life’ campaign is launched. This aims to raise £25,000 which will enable 250,000 new trees to be planted in Nkhata Bay. The campaign is part of an urgent response to an imminent new bylaw which will impose heavy fines on community members for cutting down trees. Read More

Over 11,000 trees have been raised and planted
Five community tree nurseries have been established
Many people have been educated about the upkeep and importance of trees
Many tree species have been planted in farmers' fields, schools, churches and on open and degraded land. Read More

Temwa partners with microfinance charity Deki Fair Trade Microloans.
The microloans are the first available which are interest-free as well as commission-free. This is thanks to a generous multi-year donation that cover the costs of a staff member on the ground to oversee the project.
In time it will be possible for those previously denied access to finance to set up small businesses and work themselves out of poverty. Read More

The second phase of the UWE ‘Degree Tree’ project is launched.
This encourages students to take responsibility for off-setting their paper usage by collecting individual donations of £3 to plant a tree in Malawi in their name. Read More

Temwa receives its largest ever grant from Malawi’s National Aids Commission to fund various HIV & Aids projects within the Nkhata Bay north region. Read More
Bristol-based artist Felix ‘FLX’ Braun raises money for Temwa with a world record breaking 24-hours non-stop, draw-a-thon at Bristol's King Of Paint gallery.
With the money raised FLX has travelled to Usisya to work on a community mural project with school children and local artists. His mural, which raises awareness of the importance of health education, is unveiled at one of the hugely popular open days at the Usisya Community Centre. Read More
