November Sensitization meetings for school authorities and pupils took place in 15 schools for the upcoming Aids Action Clubs Project. This will allow children to take centre stage in the fight against HIV & AIDS. read more

Following a generous grant from Lush Cosmetics, the Wetlands Utilisation project meetings start in communities to begin the selection process for beneficiaries.

The overall aim will be to utilise the wetlands in order to alleviate the poverty of vulnerable households by improving their income and food security status. read more

Tree Nursery for the SIFT Community Forestry Project is established in the Demonstration Garden in order to raise 3,000 seedlings for planting out in the community.

The garden is also to be used to train local people in the growing and care of trees and the educating of the whole community as to the importance of trees. read more
The Mobile VCT Clinics project is completed after having tested 1275 people for HIV and AIDS.
The Peace Corps donates around 400 assorted books to Usisya Community Library.
August A donation from St Mary Redcliffe School is used to purchase educational materials for students at the Usisya Community Day Secondary School (CDSS).
The new librarian, Mr Hillary Kondowe, is sponsored by Temwa to study for a Certificate in Library Studies.
July Temwa's UK Manager visits Malawi with a member of Bottletop's staff who has been sent to monitor the HIV and AIDS projects. read more

Peer Education Community Training Sessions are held in 7 Village Development Committees, incorporating a total of 153 males and 134 females read more

Temwa hands over the new Nkhutu School building to the local community at a special ceremony. A whole host of local dignitaries and Government officials are present to officially mark the occasion. read more

PFP film crew arrive in Malawi to begin filming the 'Protecting the Next Generation' film project in collaboration with Temwa and the Malawi based organization, Youth Net & Counselling (YONECO).

This new film is going to be aimed at 5-12 year olds and is to be distributed throughout Malawi. read more

Usisya's Agricultural Training Centre prepares for upcoming sessions in horticultural training for members of the local community. read more

New Peer Education training begins with 16 more educators enrolled in the scheme. read more.

February

Mobile voluntary counselling and testing clincs (VCT) project gets underway providing clinics with a minimum of 200 individuals in 10 locations across Usisya over a period of ten months.

The project is given the go ahead after receiving funds from the T&J Meyer Family Foundation. read more
