The last of the citrus trees that were grown in the Usisya Tree Nursery are outplanted into gardens around Usisya.
New Bottletop funded Peer Education programmes begin. Bottletop fund projects that have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of young people worldwide and in this case very remote regions of Usisya.
This NGO is helping to bring knowledge to people who have not previously been exposed to such in-depth HIV & AIDS information. Read more

A new volunteer, Fleur Doonberg, a Masters student from Holland joins the Malawi team. Fleur is volunteering for Temwa for a period of ten weeks during which time she will carry out a research project into the current use of the library and adult women's literacy. |

Nick Webber Trust (NWT) bursaries are paid for the third term of the 2008 school year to all 16 students that Temwa are sponsoring through secondary school. Read more |

Temwa begins a new project in mobile video shows. Temwa’s staff transport a television, DVD player and generator to the remote villages of the region to show these HIV and Aids awareness films.
A mobile video session is held in Bula village, situated in the mountainous region of Usisya, where we showed 150 attendees the new PFP/ Temwa documentary ‘Bantu Ngati Ise' (‘People Like Us') all of whom respond well to what they see. Read more

Building starts on our second primary school block project in the village of Nkhutu. The school block is due to be finished at the end of 2008. |

The third and final horticulture training session for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWA) is completed.
This session concentrated on agri-business which involves looking at creating business plans, organising and managing a business, marketing and also basic finance and accounting allowing participants to sell their produce at the local market. Read more

A special screening of Purple Field Productions & Temwa HIV/AIDS awareness film 'Banthu Ngati Ise' (People Like Us) is put on in Mzuzu for other organisations involved in HIV/AIDS related work in Malawi. Attending organisations include Plan, World Vision, NAPHAM and PSI. Over 40 copies of the DVD are distributed to be used in HIV/AIDS awareness programs.
